Medical student education in Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at UICOMP offers students a wide array of quality learning experiences. Through small- and large-group didactics and a wide range of clinical rotations, students gain a breadth and depth of exposure to the field. Faculty work closely with students to help them accomplish the objectives of this required field of study. Students’ ratings of the quality of the training reflect a high degree a satisfaction with it. Their performance on National Board of Medical Examiner’s (NBME) Psychiatry Subject Test has consistently exceeded the national average, with several students scoring within the top 10th percentile in the country. Our latest students to pursue residency education in psychiatry have been accepted at top programs in the country including Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, University of California-Berkeley, and Yale University.
