Masters in Public Health

About the Program

The Regional MPH Program at Peoria, which is based at the UIC College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOM-Peoria) and UIC College of Nursing, Central Illinois Regional Program is a professional enhancement program (PEP) and a regional program of the UIC School of Public Health, Division of Community Health Sciences (CHS).

The Masters in Public Health (MPH) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of public health philosophy and values. The overall objective of the MPH degree program is to prepare students to draw on the knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines to define, critically assess, and resolve public health problems.

Admission to the Program

The program is targeted to the public health workforce in downstate Illinois.  Applicants who meet the admission requirements of the School of Public Health are eligible to apply to the program through the Division of Community Health Sciences.  The admission requirements include a baccalaureate degree in a health-related field from an accredited college or university and at least three years of paid public health experience or a terminal degree (PhD, MD, EdD).  Instructions for applying to the program can be found at http://www.uic.edu/sph/admissions_apply.htm .
