Welcome to the Pediatric Residency Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Our program is located at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois which is a part of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, the third largest hospital for staffed beds in Illinois. Our program has a long standing tradition, since 1958, of excellence in pediatric education. Because we are a large referral and tertiary center for Peoria, the greater Peoria area, and 37 counties stretching from the Iowa border to the Indiana border you will experience both primary and tertiary care in pediatric medicine. When the Milestone Project, a 440,000-square-foot addition to the medical center-one of the biggest construction projects ever planned in our area- is complete in the Fall of 2010, it will house the New Children's  Hospital of IL. Having state-of-the-art equipment and children's services all in one area we can continue to meet the communities growing healthcare needs. This training will prepare you for primary practice, academic medicine or fellowships. Our faculty is committed to educational rigor and our program size fosters a collegial and friendly team work atmosphere. As you are looking for a residency, I encourage you to look for a program that fits Elizabeth Kramer, M.D.
