Fellows in Research

Auroa Badin, MD, is an F3 Clinical Fellow. He has published in various national and international journals, and has many IRB projects under him as a Principal Investigator. His research interests include mainly electrophysiology advancements with special interest in VT ablation and atrial fibrillation. He will be pursuing his advanced fellowship in Clinical EP at Ohio State University from July 2016.

Jeffrey Heslop, MD, is an F3 Clinical Fellow. He has presented abstracts at national conferences, and has a case publication in the New England Journal of Medicine. Current research pursuits include physician perceptions of guideline directed patient management, atrial fibrillation in endurance athletes, and the management of type II myocardial infarction. He will be pursuing his advanced fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan starting July 2016.

Karthiek Narala, MD, is an F3 Clinical Fellow with research interest in acute coronary syndromes, valvular heart disease, and stem cell therapy. Prior projects have been accepted to national meetings such as American College of Cardiology (ACC), Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), and The World Congress on Heart Disease.  He has been published in various international journals, including JACC.org and JACC Interventions. Dr. Narala will be pursuing an advanced fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Icahn School of Medicine/Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City beginning July 2016.

Ashim Aggarwal, MD, is an F2 Clinical Fellow. He has published in various national and international journals. His most publications are on LVAD and advanced heart failure. He is doing many IRB projects as a Principal Investigator and co-investigator. His research interests include mainly cardiovascular interventions. He would like to pursue Interventional Cardiology as a career goal.

His research interests include mainly cardiac imaging and cardiovascular interventions. He is planning to pursue an advanced training in cardiac imaging.

Her research interests include imaging and electrophysiology procedures mainly Cardiac Implantable electronic devices. She would like to pursue electrophysiology as a career goal.

Jay Patel, MD, is an F1 Clinical Fellow whose primary research interests include outcomes in trans-catheter aortic valve replacement. He is currently studying the impact of frailty on patients undergoing TAVR. He is involved in many IRB projects as principal and co-investigator, and has presented his work at several national conferences including ACC, AHA, and SCAI. As a career goal, he would like to pursue an advanced heart failure specialty.

Sepehr Saberian, MD, is an F1 Clinical Fellow. He is doing many IRB projects mainly on new imaging techniques as a co-investigator. His research interests include mainly MRI, PET CT imaging. He would like to pursue Imaging as a career goal.

He has presented posters in AHA scientific sessions. His research interests include cardiac arrest and cardiovascular interventions.
