Residency Assignments
Medical school is only the beginning of a physician's training! Following graduation from UICOM-P, our new medical doctors go on to residency training in a wide range of medical specialities at programs throughout Illinois and across the nation. Residency training may take from three to six years, depending upon the specialty. Most "matches" to residency assignments are made through the National Residency Matching Program (
NRMP
). Match results are announced and celebrated on Match Day during the third week of March.
