Student Event Planning Board
The Student Event Planning Board was established in 2016. Its work builds upon a rich history at UICOM-P of collaboration between students and faculty to stage events that not only promote social collegiality, but that raise funds for projects and scholarships that benefit medical students.
The signature event of the UICOM-P social calendar is the annual SnowBall, a gala dinner-dance that has highlighted our student and faculty calendars for over twenty-five years. Anyone who has been among the 200 or so people who attend SnowBall will agree that it's always a memorable event.
Moreover, the vision of SnowBall is to raise funds for annual scholarships for students who travel to engage in educational activities that enrich their cultural competency or who travel to medically underserved areas for special training.
The Student Event Planning Board aims to make SnowBall self-sustaining and productive through donations and ticket receipts. The total cost for the event itself, including meals, decorations, programs, and music is typically over $10,000.
