Distinguished Visiting Professorship in Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is recognized as the leader in mental health education for medical students and residents at the College of Medicine. However, with the development of a new psychiatry residency training program the Department is poised to branch out to provide educational opportunities to others in the community. One means to broaden dissemination of high-level mental health information is the establishment of a Distinguished Visiting Professorship (DVP). Community support of a DVP in Peoria will help to ensure that the advancing role of the region’s only academic psychiatry training program will serve the community on multiple levels.
